How do you unlock a door without the handle from the outside?

Place a putty knife with a thin, stiff blade on the side of the latch closest to the strike plate. Push in as hard as possible while moving the handle of the putty knife in the direction of the door jamb and the blade of the putty knife in the direction of the door knob hole.

Can’t open my front door?

Use a spatula or putty knife to get a little space between the door and the frame, then use a combination of wiggling and brute force to get the door open. Don’t try to kick or smash it open because this could damage the door and injure you. You can try bracing one foot against the frame and pulling hard.
