How long do steel wall inground pools last?
For the most part the steel walls of your pool will last forever. In over 25 years of building and renovating vinyl liner pools, I have only encountered wall panels so rusted that they needed to be replaced perhaps once or twice…
How long will a steel wall pool last?
Steel frame pools, on average, will last between 5 – 10 years, depending on various factors.
What causes rust in pools?
What Causes Rust Stains in Pools? Rust stains can develop from construction fasteners that fall into the pool, but more often come from hair pins, aka bobby pins, or pieces of non-pool toys brought into the water. Old water pipes can carry iron into the pool when adding water.
What do I do if my pool water is brown?
If you shocked your pool water and it turned brown you probably have metals. Oxidized iron usually turns a brown or rusty color in the water. Use the No-Drain Metal Stain Eliminator Kit to reduce, sequester, and eliminate the metals to clear up your water and prevent recurrence or staining of your pool surface.
What to do with rusted ground pool liner?
Welcome SlowGary! Looks like you have a pretty nasty rust problem there. I’ve never recommended this for a steel walled in ground pool but for above grounds, I have recommended sheet metal and pop rivots over the rust and then duct taping the sheet metal to protect the new liner when it’s dropped. I’d go right over the seam where it joins too.
Are there any rusted steel walls in inground?
Most of the walls are in decent shape, with just a bit of surface rust here and there. As pictured, there are a couple of spots where the rust has clearly won the battle. Would’ve liked to be able to use it this season, instead it’s just been an eyesore hole in the ground. Maybe dynamite can solve the problem?
Is there rust on the walls of my inground pool?
I recently moved into a house with an inground pool, and after pulling the old torn liner out learned that there are some parts of the steel walls that are completely rusted through.
Is it OK to paint over rust paint?
There are many lower cost (lower quality) consumer grade rust paints on the market that are designed to have you buy them over again in a relatively short period of time. These should be avoided for projects that need long term performance or are exposed to harsher environments such as in coastal areas.
