Satellite Dish

Parabolic microwave antenna for transmitting and receiving satellite signals. In the downlink, the antenna collects data or video signals from orbiting satellites and concentrates it where the current collects it, then sends the signal to be amplified and sent to a satellite receiver or IRD. The term is derived from the shape of the reflector surface, but also refers to the entire antenna subsystem, including the antenna power supply and structure.
