What is Bruin care?
BruinCare is a program that gives students who have waived UC SHIP prepaid access to certain services at The Ashe Center. Remember, all registered students have access to Ashe Center services (regardless of what insurance plan they have) but small fees apply for services rendered.
How much does UCLA Uship cost?
Remain enrolled in UC SHIP and pay the UC SHIP fees ($741.90/qtr) via UCLA BruinBill by the deadlines (fall – 9/20/18; winter – 12/20/18; spring – 3/20/19), OR….UC SHIP Policy.

Should I get BruinCare?
We recommend Bruin Care because it is a supplemental alternative to UCSHIP. When athletes waive UCSHIP (because they have other health insurance), they are given an option to have Bruin Care ($60/quarter). Bruin Care exists to cover a copay that they would incur should they need to go to Ashe and not have UCSHIP.
What type of insurance is Ucship?
UC SHIP is a self-funded, comprehensive health insurance program for registered UCI undergraduate and graduate students that is underwritten and administered by the Regents of the University of California. The plan includes medical, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental and vision benefits.
How do I cancel my Ucship UCLA?
Please submit a Waiver Contact Form or call (310) 794-5614 for assistance. During a designated waiver period, response times can take three (3) to five (5) business days.
Is Ucship included in tuition?
All registered students are automatically enrolled in UC SHIP and charged a health insurance premium on their tuition bill, unless they waive enrollment by showing they have coverage that meets UC’s required benefit levels. Note that not all Covered California plans will meet UC’s health insurance benefit requirements.
What is UCLA university grant?
University Grants are a one-year, non-renewable gift aid awarded to undergraduate students who complete their FAFSA before the priority filing deadline. These awards recognize and assist students with financial need.
What Uship covers?
uShip doesn’t verify service provider insurance credentials. Therefore, we offer shipping customers a cargo insurance policy through our third party partners. Unlike motor truck cargo or carrier’s liability insurance, our cargo insurance provides coverage for the direct physical loss or damage to the cargo.
Is UC ship better than Medi Cal?
UC SHIP May Be Your Best Bet In most cases, UC SHIP is a better deal than public options, such as Covered California and Medi-Cal. It may even be a better deal than coverage under your parents’ health care plan. UC SHIP coverage meets the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) — including the individual mandate.
Is UC Ship private?
UC SHIP is a not-for-profit, self-funded student health benefit plan administered by the UC Office of the President. UC SHIP was created with a student shared governance model to meet the Regental mandate that all registered students have health coverage as a non-academic condition of enrollment.
Does fafsa cover Ucship?
For some students, the cost of UC SHIP’s premium is included in your financial aid award. Check your financial aid package or review it in the My UCSC Portal Student Services section. You can also contact the UCSC Financial Aid and Scholarship Office. Will Medi-Cal pay for my UC SHIP?
Is Ucship Medicare?
For services that are not performed at the Student Health Center, the coverage under this Plan is secondary coverage to all other plans (including Medicare), with the exception of Medi-Cal, MRMIP, and TRICARE.

Is bruincare right for my family?
For robust, international insurance coverage, we recommend investigating if UCSHIP is right for your family. BruinCare is only available to registered UCLA students who have waived out of UCLA UC SHIP. If you waive UC SHIP for the entire academic year and decide to purchase BruinCare, you must purchase it for the year.
Can I waive ucship and bruincare?
