What is SSL Duende?
The SSL Duende (“do-en-day”) is a powerful DSP platform designed to serve up genuine, SSL console-grade audio processing within your audio workstation. Duende offers up to 32 channels of SSL signal processing and supports sample rates from 44.1kHz to 96kHz.
Is SSL native plugins good?
Having said this, this compressor is also really good on individual instruments. I particularly like using the SSL Native Bus Compressor on pianos. Since it has a very fast attack setting it is really good for leveling out the peaks you get from an exciting piano part. It’s also great for parallel compression.

Using a channel strip is one of the best ways handling your entire mixing workflow (gain, EQ, compression and gate etc.) with a single plugin. Channel strip plugins are a very simple and efficient way to mix. They really simplify your workflow and they work particularly well with mixing vocal tracks.
