The Wrekin /ˈriːkɪn/ is a hill in east Shropshire, England. It is located some five miles (8 km) west of Telford, on the border between the unitary authorities of Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin.

Access. The main access and most popular footpath for the Wrekin forms part of the Shropshire Way. Car parking is available at the Forest Glen to the north of the hill (Shropshire Wildlife Trust car park and some roadside parking). Please ensure that you park safely and do not obstruct the highway.

Is the wrekin a difficult walk?
Be prepared for the trip down (no pun intended), it’s steep and precarious. I highly recommend this walk. First attempt to do Wrekin 4 times as one route, going 4 different paths up and down. Some parts on the North slope were quite challenging.

The Wrekin lies about five miles west of Telford, on the minor road between Cluddley and Little Wenlock. The walk is about five miles (8km), easy woodland walking, followed by a stiffish climb to the summit.
How much is parking at the Wrekin?
Its dog friendly and car parking is free. There is also a small cafe halfway up for refreshments and a toilet break if needed. Usually takes between 30 to 50 minutes to reach the top depending on your fitness level.
